A score table should always sum to zero. This helper implements the main published scoring formula and common table allocation; use the official rules for tournament disputes or unusual edge cases.

How scoring works

The target is 56 points with no oudlers, 51 with one, 41 with two and 36 with three. The base score is 25 plus the absolute difference between the points made and the target, multiplied by the contract: Take ×1, Guard ×2, Guard Without the Dog ×4 or Guard Against the Dog ×6.

Then add the applicable bonuses: Petit at the End, handful and slam. At four players, the taker receives or pays three times the unit score and each defender takes the opposite unit. At three, the taker takes two units. At five, the called partner normally shares the attack score.
